Dates: Du 25 au 29 août 2025

Descriptif: Nous déclinerons le motif de l'entrelacement avec des enchevêtrements, des tournoiements, des tresses. Une danse mêlée, mélangée.

Nous associerons des circulations, des structures, des danses de groupe et de couple, des mouvements de masse caractéristiques de la danse d'Ex nihilo. A travers une danse physique et instinctive, nous jouerons des marches, des tresses, des courses, en face à face, en contact, en partnering.

Nous diviserons la journée en deux temps, un échauffement le matin, basé sur un travail intense au sol, puis vers une danse debout pour aller vers les portés.

Un temps d'atelier, de recherche, d'improvisation seul ou à plusieurs, dedans ou dehors dans lesquels une attention particulière sera portée à l'interprétation.

Bios:

JEAN-ANTOINE BIGOT est artiste multidisciplinaire: danseur, chorégraphe, performeur et plasticien. En 2001, il rejoint la compagnie Ex Nihilo et signe en codirection avec Anne Le Batard un répertoire de plus de vingt pièces chorégraphiques pour l'espace public, salles de spectacles et lieux non dédiés.

Parallèlement à son parcours d'interprète chez Pierre Doussaint, Richard Mouradian, Fattoumi Lamoureux, Karin Vynke et chorégraphe dans la compagnie Ex nihilo, il poursuit son travail plastique à travers dessins, peintures, installations et performances.

ANNE LE BATARD se forme à la danse de manière autodidacte en suivant les chorégraphes Jackie Taffanel, Myriam Berns, Frey Faust, Gérard Gourdot et en kinésiologie Hubert Godart. Elle suit plus assidument la pratique (Présence Mouvement Dansé) d'Hervé Diasnas pendant plusieurs années pour développer ensuite sa propre démarche chorégraphique, la technique et la qualité spécifique de la danse d'Ex Nihilo.

Après un parcours d'interprète chez Karin Vynke en Belgique et chez Georges Appaix, elle fonde la compagnie Ex Nihilo en 1994, sous forme d'un collectif de danseurs, plasticiens et photographes ayant pour objectif de créer des interventions dans l'espace public.

Reconnue pour son travail de la danse dans l'espace public, elle est régulièrement sollicitée pour intervenir sur des masters class, notamment à l'Ecole d'Architecture de la Villette, à Paris 8, à la FAI AR (Formation Itinérante des Arts de la Rue), au CNAC (Centre National des Arts du Cirque), à Lyon 8 « le danseur interprète », en Allemagne au Ballet de Chemnitz, en Afrique du Sud à Durban, avec Flatfoot Dance Company.

Passionnée par l'image, elle crée ou collabore à l'élaboration de nombreux films en super 8 et en vidéo.

Anne et Jean enseignent et transmettent le répertoire et la technique de la compagnie en France et à l'étranger à un public de professionnels: danseurs, comédiens, circassiens et amateurs, ainsi qu'aux scolaires, lycéens et étudiants à travers workshops et trainings.

La recherche d'Ex nihilo se concentre sur une danse qui exprime et qui raconte. La danse d'Ex nihilo prend sa force et son authenticité dans un enracinement profond dans le sol, la présence, la densité de l'interprétation qui se conjugue à la physicalité, la relation et la réactivité à l'autre et au groupe.

TRESSE ET CORPS À CORPS with Anne Le Batard and Jean Bigot (Cie EX NIHILO)

Dates: August 25-29th, 2025. Arrival on the 24th, depart on the 29th evening or 30th early morning.

Description: We will explore the theme of interweaving with entanglements, twists, and braids. A mixed, blended dance.

We will combine circulations, structures, group and partner dances, mass movements characteristic of Ex Nihilo dance. Through a physical and instinctive dance, we will engage in marches, braids, runs, face-to-face, in contact, and partnering.

The day will be divided into two parts: a warm-up in the morning, based on intense floor work, followed by a standing dance leading into lifts.

A workshop time, focused on research, improvisation alone or with others, indoors or outdoors, in which particular attention will be paid to interpretation.

Bios:

JEAN-ANTOINE BIGOT is a multidisciplinary artist: dancer, choreographer, performer, and visual artist. In 2001, he joined the Ex Nihilo company and co-directed with Anne Le Batard a repertoire of more than twenty choreographic pieces for public space, performance halls, and non-dedicated venues.

Alongside his career as a performer with Pierre Doussaint, Richard Mouradian, Fattoumi Lamoureux, Karin Vynke, and as a choreographer with the Ex Nihilo company, he continues his visual art work through drawings, paintings, installations, and performances.

ANNE LE BATARD trained in dance autodidactically by working with choreographers Jackie Taffanel, Myriam Berns, Frey Faust, Gérard Gourdot, and in kinesiology with Hubert Godart. She more consistently followed the practice (Présence Mouvement Dansé) of Hervé Diasnas for several years before developing her own choreographic approach, the technique, and specific quality of Ex Nihilo dance.

After a career as a performer with Karin Vynke in Belgium and Georges Appaix, she founded the Ex Nihilo company in 1994, as a collective of dancers, visual artists, and photographers with the aim of creating interventions in public spaces.

Recognized for her work in dance in public spaces, she is regularly invited to teach masterclasses, notably at the École d'Architecture de la Villette, Paris 8, FAI AR (Formation Itinérante des Arts de la Rue), CNAC (Centre National des Arts du Cirque), Lyon 8 "le danseur interprète," at the Ballet de Chemnitz in Germany, and in Durban, South Africa, with Flatfoot Dance Company. Passionate about imagery, she creates or collaborates on the production of numerous Super 8 and video films.

Anne and Jean teach and pass on the repertoire and technique of the company in France and abroad to professional audiences: dancers, actors, circus artists, and amateurs, as well as to schools, high school students, and university students through workshops and training.

Ex Nihilo's research focuses on a dance that expresses and tells stories. Ex Nihilo dance draws its strength and authenticity from a deep grounding in the earth, presence, and the density of interpretation, combined with physicality, the relationship with others, and the responsiveness to the group.
